Do you ever find yourself having a conversation and suddenly realizing that you have NO idea what that person is saying? Here’s a how to become a better listener, now.

It’s so easy to be distracted these days.  Your having coffee with a friend and phone beeps or your mind turns to what you need to pick up at the grocery store on the way home.

“Being a good listener is more than just hearing what others are saying, it involves a conscious effort to understand and retain [the] information being…shared”. 

Here are a few tips to help you become a better listener:

  • Clear your mind and put away your electronic devices
  • Don’t interrupt
  • Use body language as a way to acknowledge the speaker
  • Don’t think about what you’re going to say
  • Focus on the person who is talking
